Kelsy focuses her efforts on anything and everything that she deems in need of attention within the company! No task is too big or small for Kelsy. Her eyes and ears extend to all departments, and include the span of complex challenges and long-term planning all the way down to the small details (i.e.: ...from "Negotiating office leases" to..."The recycling hasn't been taken out."). Most days she finds herself: creating and communicating long-term visions for the company; paying bills while overseeing financial progress and liquidity; answering dozens of staff member emails; and conducting several scheduled and impromptu meetings with members of management every day.

Kelsy's mantra is: "Progress, progress, progress in everything we do!" She is conscious to ensure that this progress does not deviate from certain company-wide principles: present the service honestly to clients and then take good care of them, respect and appreciate differences in personality and ability among our staff and clients, and keep your vision focused on the horizon of long-term success.

Tell us about your company- Ideal Positions.

In a community in northern California (pop. 17,294), set between redwood forests and the Pacific coastline, a hard-working team is united with a common goal: Remove the burden of website marketing off the shoulders of business owners and managers so they can focus on doing what they do best- running their businesses- allowing us to do what we do best- positioning their websites where customers and clients will see them.

How do you help create excellent customer service for clients?

By making it our highest priority! A few examples among many include: Administrative Assistants are paired with every Customer Service Rep, helping them respond to clients' requests faster and more accurately. All staff adhere to strict company policies- requiring that all clients' new contracts be faxed or emailed within the day (usually within the hour), instructing the Tech Dept. to work on all new accounts or account changes the day they are initiated, and expecting all staff members to check their voicemails and email accounts at least twice per day. In addition, we have never connected phone trees to our 1-800 #'s or direct lines (i.e.: "Press #4 if you are an active client.") so a friendly voice answers almost immediately.

What motivates you at work?

Maintaining integrity in our client relationships by promoting clear, precise communication of the services we provide and fulfilling all promises made. Creating security for my family- VP Scott Casqueira and three rowdy boys. Providing career opportunities- not just jobs- in a community where employment is scarce. Feeling a sense of camaraderie with my staff.

Why do you enjoy working at Ideal Positions?

Because I'm the boss! (Contrary to what VP Scott Casqueira writes on his profile.) In all seriousness, the answer is that this company and its staff have "heart" and "try". In a time when many have lost their way or at least lost their work ethic, I am proud of a staff that reliably commit to caring about their clients, each other, and the integrity of the company.

Tell us about your current or past passions outside of work?

I was- and will be again- an accomplished long-distance backpacker: Appalachian Trail (1400 miles), Colorado Trail (400 miles), Pacific Crest Trail (2350 miles), Continental Divide Trail (1500 miles), Arizona Trail (800 miles). I have hiked through some of the most beautiful scenery in this country with only my backpack's contents to assist my survival in all kinds of conditions. Every day on the trail I felt ALIVE. Now the joys of motherhood and family bring a different kind of life "high". Kisses and hugs from Scott, Dakota, Wyatt and Josh make up for the lack of sleep and personal time.

State a "pie-in-the-sky" dream/goal/hope of yours?

I'd like to write a book for aspiring new entrepreneurs that shares all the lessons I have learned in the last six years as owner of Ideal Positions.
